When your tennis shoes have played their final match, don't toss them in the trash. Help reduce waste by placing worn-out sneakers in our recycling collection bin. Your old shoes can be transformed into new products and kept out of landfills. Every pair makes a difference—thank you for helping our club serve up a more sustainable future!

Today, the club gathered to honor longtime member John Salamida for his extraordinary generosity and dedication. John donated the funds needed to purchase the club’s new irrigation system in memory of his mother and grandparents, creating a lasting tribute to their legacy. On behalf of the Albany Tennis Club's BOARD OF DIRECTORS, I am pleased to inform you the ATC will open for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 16th at 9:00am!!!!

Of course, it is highly recommended you call the club phone (518) 438-8846 BEFORE you travel given the forecast for 2.5 days of rain in the Capital Region (Wednesday, Thursday, and half of Friday). An updated court report will be prepared by the staff at 6:30am on Saturday.

IF we are able to open this coming Saturday, then the club will likely be open from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

We contract annually with a vendor to prepare our clay courts for the upcoming season, but ATC volunteers, led by the indefatigable Steve Beditz, are already hard at work getting the club ready. From turning on the water and dialing in the irrigation system to setting up tables, benches, chairs, and a windscreen on the perimeter fence, from testing the court roller to mowing our fresh new grass on the median, our member volunteers will have the courts and the club ready for you to play. Stay tuned, the exact opening date will be announced.
