Playing at the Club

The Albany Tennis Club has a strong culture of inclusiveness and we encourage both the public and our members to secure a court, participate in our social sessions or book a lesson with one of our professional coaches.

Club Hours of Operation

Start of season May

June - September
Weekdays: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Weekends: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

September - October
Weekdays: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Weekends: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

NOTE: Courts are closed from 1pm-3pm daily for irrigation.

Holidays falling on a weekend or weekday will follow the same schedule as above.

Court Status Notifications

We will record updates at (518) 438-8846 in the morning and throughout the day.

For the safety of our members and guests, ATC reserves the right to close the courts based on conditions.

Club Rules and Etiquette

  • Appropriate shoes for clay court use are required.
  • Playing Time: When other members are waiting, play will be completed in one and one-half hour segments for doubles and one hour for singles.
  • USTA rules will govern play. Control your temper. Abusive or profane language is prohibited.
  • End of Play Maintenance: At the end of play, please sweep your court. You do not have to clean the lines.
  • Beverages: No beverages, except water and sports drinks, are allowed on the court playing areas.
  • For all tennis courts there will be a $20 guest fee.
  • If you are the last member to leave the club, please lock the outside gate.
  • Members are encouraged to park in the Club parking lot.
  • Because we play on clay we need to pay attention to rain water and wind. Please cooperate with staff members if the courts are deemed to be unplayable.
  • If the sky gets dark and you hear thunder, stop play, pack up, and go to your vehicle.
  • Emergency information. If you call 911, members from the City of Albany Fire and Police will respond. Give the address of 316 Partridge St, Albany, NY, 12208 and state the nature of the emergency.
