You can register for this prestigious tournament through me. Just e-mail me and tell me what draw(s) you want to play. Sign up only if you are certain. I know it is a commitment of energy, time, and money. Still, this tournament can only happen with a strong commitment from all competitors. Thank you.
Players come from all over the Eastern Section of the USTA (NYS, Northern New Jersey, and a small part of Connecticut).
All the draws have player limits. Since there are about 15 draws in the tournament, I need to organize the weekend based on draws of certain sizes. Once the limit of a draw is reached, the draw closes. HURRY!
Most draws in this tournament are USTA Sanctioned for ranking purposes in the Eastern Section of the USTA for calendar year 2010. You must be a current USTA member in good standing to participate in these draws. A few draws are non-sanctioned. They are not for ranking purposes, but give players of 2.5 - 3.5 level skills opportunities to participate in the tournament. Historically, many members at the Albany Tennis Club participate in these draws. Look for the non-sanctioned draw choices below.
The absolute DEADLINE for REGISTRATON is Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 12:00pm (noon).
A MATCH SCHEDULE will be prepared and sent to you all prospective competitors. This way, you can schedule your non-tennis life around your matches. Some draws are EASTERN SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. This means the draw is considered very important in the eyes of the USTA Eastern Office and has double the number of points for players trying to improve their rankings. For those draws, look for an asterisk *. If you play an age-category draw, you must be at least that age or will turn that age by the end of 2010. For example, if you are 34 years old, but will turn 35 on Dec 31rst, then you are eligible to play in the Men's 35 Singles draws. Of course, you can also enter the Men's Open Singles draw which is open to any age.
Prizes will be awarded to champions and runners-up.
