Block Parties Energize Community Courts
...in Albany
Up at the Albany Tennis Club in Ridgefield Park, the 6th oldest tennis
club in the country, about 100 people ranging in age fro six to 90 --
including the legend Hank Linett, Eastern's Sue Wold and TSR Jenny
Rizzo -- participated in the block party on the club's 8 beautiful red
clay courts.

2008 ATC Manager Announced (January 2008)
The Board of Directors of the Albany Tennis Club is proud to announce that Mr. Ed Mashmann has been hired to manage the courts at Ridgefield Park for the 2008 season. Ed has been a City of Albany resident for more than thirty years. He recently retired from New York State government. He is well known by area tennis players and has been active in USTA and World Team Tennis. Many know him through his on-line "Mashmann Tennis Club" which, through email, lets the members know about opportunities to play at local courts. Ed has been organizing and playing recreational tennis in the Capital District for many years.

Larry Yakubowski, a former ATC manager, will return to assist Ed and to provide pro services. Larry will be available, by appointment, for private lessons and will provide racquet stringing services.

The ATC season will kick off at the end of April. More details about the 2008 season will be announced soon.
