2008 SEASON MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Unfortunately, we are all experiencing significant cost of living increases in our daily lives. The Club is subject to the same economic influences, and after very careful consideration and deliberation, the Board has found it necessary to make a modest change in the annual dues structure, as you will note. Last year, our operating expenses came to about $30,000. This year however, our known expenses have increased by more than 10 percent and unanticipated expenses such as court maintenance and equipment repair could also rise as we get into the season. Even a slight dip in membership would quickly put us in deficit, and since the Club operates on such a narrow margin [the result of keeping dues to a minimum over the years] we simply cannot afford to "go into the red."
The new dues structure is designed to keep us apace of expenses. Even at these rates, we believe the Albany Tennis Club is still the best tennis bargain in town. Our annual dues are less than most private facilities, who charge for court time on top of the membership. As you well know, we offer unlimited tennis in return for your membership. Hopefully, our hard work in cultivating new memberships will continue, and serve to offset the inevitable attrition that occurs from year to year. We are all invested in this effort, as it is the only real opportunity we have to increase the income side of our balance sheet. If you know anyone who might consider joining, please bring them by, or put them in touch with Ed Mashman or any of the Board members: we'll sell them on the virtues of the ATC!!

Singles, couples and family memberships are available as well as reduced rates for college and high school students. There are no court fees for members. Guests are welcome to try out our courts. There is a $15.00 fee per visit.
30-day memberships:
Starting July 1, ATC is offering 30-day memberships. These will be available for the rest of the season. Each membership will run for 30 days, except a membership bought September 1 or later will be valid until the end of the season. An individual membership is $60.00, couple $80.00 and family $90.00. There are no 30-day memberships for students and juniors.
You may start your membership by printing off the membership form elsewhere on this web site and handing it in to an attendant at the courts along with your payment. Mail-ins will not be accepted.
