Ed Mashmann

Ed played recreationally in and after college. He gave the game up to raise a family. He returned to the game about 15 years ago.

Year round Ed tends to his "Mashmann Tennis Club". He reserves courts at local indoor clubs and e-mails his members to arrange the matches. If you would like to be a member of MTC e-mail Ed at emashma1@nycap.rr.com.

The “dues” for being in MTC is a once a year donation to charity. Last year the "dues" totaled $1,600 for such charities as Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, Salvation Army, Regional Food Bank, Wounded Warriors, Habitat for Humanity, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, Marriage Equality of New York, Mohawk and Hudson Humane Society and Schenectady Hospice.

Ed organized charity fund raisers at the Albany Tennis Club last year for CRAAB, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless and the Childrens' Hospital at Albany Medical Center. He appreciates your generosity.

He also organizes a charity fundraiser annually during the holidays. Albany Tennis Club, and the three indoor clubs joined forces to sponsor a tournament in memory of Stan Majerowski, a long time teaching professional in the area who passed away in November. The clubs donated the court time and Ed recruited and organized the players. More than $1,000 was raised for the Schenectady Hospice in Stan's memory. Over the past year Ed has raised over $10,000 for charity.

Ed was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Central Islip on Long Island. He graduated from St. Anthony's High School and New Paltz State University College. Ed was an Accountant for NYS for 30+ years. Married to Beth Hedden forever. They have two children - Gretchen, a nurse and Garth, a law school student. Ed's hobbies are tennis and genealogy.
